Overview
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, factory tactical variant of the Franchi 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun. Unlike common field guns that have been modified with aftermarket extensions later in life, this specimen is a dedicated, factory-built high-capacity defense platform.
It beautifully balances heavy-duty tactical utility with the classic look of its original, rich factory walnut wood stock and forend.
Mechanical Profile & Premium Upgrades
Action: True Franchi PG80/500 gas-operated system featuring a rock-solid flat, non-rotary bolt architecture.
Gas Platform: Driven by a 2-gas-hole dual-port barrel working alongside a non-adjustable single-rib steel gas piston riding the magazine tube. This provides lightning-fast cycling. Prefer ammunition in30 to 36gram range
Magazine Capacity: True Factory 8+1 capacity utilizing a rugged, seamless one-piece factory magazine tube (no weak aftermarket extension joints or clamps).
Furniture: Factory-matched Walnut Wood Stock and Forend with crisp checkering, kept in beautiful condition.
Barrel: Original compact 18-inch profile, perfectly weighted for agility and home protection.
Custom Choke Upgrade: Originally a fixed non-choke barrel, it has been professionally custom-machined and fitted with a premium 3-inch Winchester choke setup sourced from Brownells. This allows you to run standard Winchester/Invector flush or extended chokes to swap out and fine-tune your patterns for sport or duty loads with a sturdy barrel clamp.
Condition & Performance Notes
The shotgun functions flawlessly. The flat, non-rotary bolt faces sit perfectly, locking securely into battery every time. The gas port system is clean, free of pitting, and cycles standard to magnum loads without hesitation. The custom-threaded Brownells choke modification is executed seamlessly and runs perfectly concentric to the bore.
